Saltburn By The Sea - Skate Path Extension

This project consisted of an extension to an existing popular skatepark. The client’s ambition for Phase 2 was a skate path to connect the existing skatepark with the tarmac path leading from the car park.

The brief was for the skate path to be more street style and

beginner friendly. intending to create an area to draw younger users away from the main park. The design responds to this with all elements

being smaller than Phase 1, and the incorporation of features such

as the hand finished concrete lip on the cantilevered quarter pipe (rather than metal coping), with plenty of space for beginners to practice

away from the main park. The resulting concept is a wheelchair

accessible S-shaped path that was designed collaboratively on site

with the client.
